An integrated social networking campaign to promote Maidstone’s biggest ever Christmas Lights Switch On event proved to be a highly cost effective way of mobilizing Kent’s shoppers.

With stages at two locations (Fremlin Walk and Jubilee Square), KMFM, Santa, face painters, balloon modeling fairies, bands, dancing, free mince pies, a visit TOWIE star Chloe Sims and a great late night retail offer, Maidstone Borough Council and Fremlin Walk had plenty to offer.

By making good use of Chloe Sims' 686,876 Twitter followers, 631,908 local Facebook users and the combined 35,000 Facebook fans of Fremlin Walk, Kent Student Union, KMFM and The Kent Messenger, we were able to deliver over 10,000 people to the Centre of Maidstone for the 3-hour celebration.
