Not only were love and romance in the air on Saturday 13th February, but shoppers at Harlow's Harvey Centre were able to enjoy a free bottle of wine with their loved ones courtesy of the Centre and the Sunday Times Wine Club.
The team had arranged an exclusive deal with the Sunday Times Wine Club which would see shoppers at the Centre able to claim a free bottle of either red or white wine, simply on production of a £20 receipt from any store on that day. Of course recipients also had to be over 18 years of age.
The promotional team was on site between 9.30am and 5.30pm and spent time on the malls, inside tenants' stores and also on the stand itself chatting to customers and staff, informing them of the promotion, its specifics and location. The event was pre-promoted throughout the Centre on poster sites, in 5 local press titles, on the Centre's website and via the newly set-up Facebook fan page.
Indeed such was the popularity of the offer that the team had given away their final bottle of wine by 3pm but continued talking to shoppers about the Centre and handing out vouchers for 50% off a 15-bottle case order with the Sunday Times Wine Club. Throughout the weekend over 2500 vouchers were handed out.
The team has rolled out a new campaign for the Harvey Centre for 2010, with a strong ‘experiential' marketing emphasis sitting alongside an updated website and improved digital campaign, including Facebook. The Valentine's Day Sunday Times Wine Club offer was the first such experiential event in the campaign and drew favourable responses from both shoppers and tenants alike.
