Burgess Hill RFC popped in to see us recently for some advice about attracting new members for their youth squads.

We quickly identified the sticking point. Kids weren’t going to come along and play rugby on a Sunday if they didn’t already know someone at the club. So it was clear that we had to encourage the club's best asset (the players) to invite people to play.

We developed the ‘Talent Scout’ concept where 15 volunteers were given branded hoodies, leaflets, posters and their very own business cards and tasked with signing school mates up. Each month the player with the highest number of introductions gets a cash reward
